Noel Rabinowitz

Noel RabinowitzNoel Rabinowitz Noel Rabinowitz, Director of Media Programs, brings a life-long commitment to social justice organizing combined with broad organizational and entrepreneurial experience in communications, online, broadcast and multimedia. Before graduating with Physics and Visual Arts double BA with honors at Brown University, Noel gained media and communications fundamentals while organizing for affirmative action, anti-apartheid, labor-student solidarity, anti-war and pro-financial aid coalitions. Living in Oakland in the 90's, Noel's partnership in InfraRed Communications – with clients including Macromedia, Netscape and Applez – allowed for organizing and media work with groups including CTWO, PUEBLO, Californians for Justice and the World Festival of Youth and Students.

Returning to his native New York City in 1998, Noel was Director/Editor of "Changing America" a national weekly labor-community TV news magazine show, then Communications Director and webmaster of Longview Publishing, publisher of "People's Weekly World" newspaper, then Technical Director for "Democracy Now!" TV and radio show. As a consultant, Noel did web development and communications for clients in labor and small business, including the Alameda County Central Labor Council and iPlayMusic.com. Just prior to joining ARC, Noel was Online Communications Specialist for SEIU-UHW healthcare workers union where he co-created a hospital workers unionization campaign website, a union member democracy campaign website and DVDs, a union-member-created web video show and a union-member blogging training.

Noel and his wife moved back to the Bay Area in 2006, and are raising two children.
