In efforts to counter the hail of hate crimes that have hit New York City, New York’s leaders have declared that November 29 will be a “Day Out Against Hate.” Associated Press.

A new report by the Urban Institute and the National Council of La Raza reveals that “for every two adults arrested in workplace raids, one child is left without proper care.” Chicago Tribune.

‘Ugly Betty’ Helps ABC Earn Diversity Points

Despite ABC’s move to return Don Imus to radio, the Multi-Ethnic Media Coalition gave ABC an A minus for its inclusion of Latinos. Though Black organizations do not participate in the report card, the Coalition does mention the invisibility of American Indians and Asians. Reuters.

Today is Black Solidarity Day
Atlanta radio host Warren Ballentine, the Rev. Al Sharpton and other civil rights leaders have called for a national boycott on spending Friday, Nov. 2 and the official 38th Black Solidarity Day is the following Monday. Historically the day before Election Day, Black leaders will endorse Obama for president then, as well. Amsterdam News.
