Watching Cartoon Network’s “Chop Socky Chooks”

Found on angry asian man

If you couldn’t figure it out, the show is about a trio of kung fu kickin’ chickens—Chick P, KO Joe and Chuckie Chan, “undercover heroes protecting the citizens of Wasabi World, a city-sized shopping mall run by the evil Dr. Wasabi.” Ugh. Expect lots of wonderfully stereotypical Asian imagery. The show premieres this Friday, March 7 on Cartoon Network. I don’t think I’ll be tuning in.

What a disgrace. Ugh. Making fun of Asians to get a few cheap laughs? Bottom of the totem pole. American cartoonists should know better than to make stereotypical low blows. With shows like this, children may take other cultures less seriously. Not all Asians are martial artists who are very traditional to their cultures. I see history repeats itself once more. Those blackface theatres (I think that's what they were called) made stereotypical insults at Africans. Nowadays, Asians are suffering such insults. We need racial tolerance, not this trash.

What's a disgrace, is people making judgment about a show before someone has seen it. One there is really only one Character who could be considered 'Asian' (Chuckie). The other two main Chooks have American accents (although the actors are British), and the main villian is German. Oh and another thing, it's not an American show. It was developed in Brittan and made by Canadians. It's really just a good light hearted show, and there really isn't a lot of asian characters in the show.

As for "Expect lots of wonderfully stereotypical Asian imagery"; It takes place in a fictional almost 'alien' world/mall, and takes more from current street wear, art and culture than anything Asian. Once again maybe people might want to actually watch something before they make an ass of themselves.

It's kind of funny how people who try to not be ignorant about things end up being the most ignorant of all, and do your fact checking before you write something. Otherwise you're no better than Fox News (yeah.'Sex Box' anyone).
