California Justices Moved by Interracial Marriage Precedent
When the California Supreme Court overturned the ban on same-sex marriages last week, the chief justice cited the 1948 decision in Perez v. ICE Builds More Detention Centers
Even after the horrible conditions at the Hutto facility were revealed, the federal government is accepting bids for up to three new family detention centers that would house as many as 600 families. ICE sees the detention centers as a deterrent for immigrating families, and say that holding children “has has the desired impact.” Los Angeles Times.
