Connerly Loses Arizona

If you’re having a bad race day, here’s your moment to feel that something is right in the world.

Ward Connerly and his group, the American Civil Rights Institute, targeted several states this year to put anti-affirmative action legislation on state ballots. They’ve lost several states which wasn’t surprising. They often lie to voters and so their petitions have been challenged and discounted.

Frankly I expected them to win Arizona. It’s ground zero for hating on immigrants and so I thought it would be an easy win for Connerly’s peeps.

But Connerly’s lost Arizona, according to The Arizona Republic. Why? What worked? They weren’t able to get enough signatures. Does that mean Arizona folks are down for affirmative action?
