Obama Ends ‘Black Prisons’
Since the attacks of September 11, much controversy has surrounded the existence of the CIA-backed “black prisons” that have detained suspected terrorists. In one of his first courses of action as Commander-in-Chief, President Obama ordered that the CIA no longer hold detainees in such prisons, reiterating the U.S.’ responsibility to uphold rules passed in the Geneva Convention regarding the treatment of prisoners.
