Lea Webb on Binghamton’s Unity in the Wake of Tragedy [VIDEO]
The national debate surrounding gun laws went up a notch or two after the April 5th Binghamton, New York shooting at an immigrant services center. State legislators are proposing a new bill that would require more regulation of ownership.
But what is too often missing from these debates is the investment in public services that provide adequate, timely and culturally appropriate mental health services. And we shouldn’t dismiss the role that local leaders play in ensuring that a constructive community healing process is in place. Binghamton City Councilwoman, Lea Webb, eloquently makes this point.
