L’Oréal: White = Beauty
After Beyonce was pretty much airbrushed whiter by L’Oréal not too long ago, it’s all the more infuriating to see that their tendency to equate lighter skin with beauty hasn’t changed. When they say Freida Pinto of Slumdog Millionaire “is the new face of L’Oréal,” what they seem to really mean is she has a new face of L’Oréal.

Here are two articles of interest that speak to "acting white" and black women straightening their hair to get hired.

This is repugnant. Little girls of color need people that look like them to be represented.
We still have a long way to go. We're still stuck in the reality Chris Rock was referring to when he said, "It's alllllright....cause its alllll white".

It kills brain cells wondering about their motives concerning the way they portray POC's in ads. It looks terrible the way they lighten up Beyonce and Freida Pinto. I'm surprised they didn't change Freida's hair red and place freckles on her face...SMH!
