Open Book TV with Moutafa Bayoumi [VIDEO]

Open Book TV: Moustafa Bayoumi from Open Book TV on Vimeo.

Check out this clip from Open Book, a new television show about books that spends each episode in one location exploring stories about people’s ties to place. The premiere episode is an ode to Brooklyn through books, and features Moustafa Bayoumi reading a passage from his book, How Does It Feel to Be a Problem? Being Young and Arab in America.

“Brooklyn is the borough with the highest number of Arab Americans in New York City, and actually, has the largest number of Arab Americans in the country,” Bayoumi says, by way of introducing his excerpt. A perfect place for his contemporary history of young Arab Americans growing up in the age of the “War on Terror.”

Open Book premieres May 11th at 8:30pm EST and May 13th at 11:30pm EST, nationally on LinkTV (DirectTV ch. 375, Dish Network ch. 9014, and cable channels nationally). To find where Link broadcasts on your dial, see linktv.org/reception.
