Post-Racial Hip-Hop?

Another great video by Jay Smooth of Ill Doctrine. He made this in response to Asher Roth and his racist Twitter post. In it, Jay Smooth talks on how we may have moved one step further but that doesn’t necessarily mean we are “post-race”. People can not be using the excuse of “post-race” American to move backwards and think racially-charged words/actions are funny. Lately, I feel like I’ve come across too many “humor” pieces on race and stereotypes (such as this one by Vice magazine, that Jay Smooth refers to). Even pieces believing that ethnic fetishes should be taken as a compliment. Who is laughing? I don’t now any person of color who is.

Basically, this stuff should be taught in grade school instead of constantly repeating the same stuff when we get older. I see why our social infrastructure needs upgrading...
...and there's not much to say on my part concerning the Vice mag piece. Humorous, I guess...
