The Color of Lacrosse
According to the NCAA, the number of Black men playing Division I lacrosse has barely grown from 1.3 percent in 1999 to 1.8 percent in 2007. Finding a foothold in Ivy League and prep schools, lacrosse is not a sport open to many people of color. But in 2005, Kyle Harrison and John Walker made an inroad as the first Black players on the all-American lacrosse team. Record Online
Silicon Valley Businesses Lose Workers of Color
A recent study by the Anita Borg Institute found that current hiring and advancement practices have roughly 40 percent of their workers of color thinking about quitting and 51 percent of women of color with plans to leave within the next year. San Francisco Chronicle
