Making Time for Adult English Language Programs in California

RaceWire’s good friend Will Coley over at Aquifer Media recently produced a video that follows students in an adult English as a Second Language program in Los Angeles. The video includes interviews from both students and teacher in room 206 at Evans Adult School in Downtown Los Angeles starting with the first class at 5:45am to figure out “how new immigrants make time to learn English.”

The video, part of a series produced for Asian Pacific American Legal Center, looks at “adult English as a Second Language programs in southern California and how they assist the integration of new immigrants.”

California has the largest adult education system in the U.S. and it is largely supported by state funding. Visit Aquifer Media’s blog for “4 Ways to Support Adult English Programs for Immigrants in California.
