Rhoda, a longtime Oakland resident, remembers fallen officer Sergeant Mark Dunakin as a irreplaceable member of her community, and as a needed role model for her sons. At the same time, she knows all too well that the unjust conditions surrounding the OPD's relationship with Oakland's underserved communities -- like those leading to the death of Oscar Grant -- are still at large. As Oakland mourns, its police and its communities are called upon for an honest assessment of their relationship.
