Check out this piece from ABC News tonight. They've done a few of these social experiments in their "What Would You Do?" series on race, but this one focuses on anti-immigrant sentiment and language. Watch the clip.

Remember to be tough on the problem and not on the people.
For the people in the beginning, there reaction should NOT be characterized as racism. Our country is a melting pot, and being a part of that means adopting the same language that we or our predecessors all had to adopt in order to assimilate. The resentment stems from the fact that millions of illegal immigrants (NOT JUST MEXICANS!) are showing up in our country undocumented and refusing/neglecting some fundamentals of being a US citizen (adopting the language and the rule of law). Illegal immigrants from all over the world arrive here and tax our social system to the breaking point, contribute to higher crime rates, and on top of all that refuse to adopt our culture (which isn't that hard by the way, learn English or at least an effort). Come here legally, we'll accept you (case in point, look at the journalist).
To the man at the end, still a hats off, on the personal level, sometimes someone just needs a %$##%$ cup of coffee.
how awesome was the guy at the end?
